It’s puzzling. It’s entertaining. It’s the latest craze in games. It’s Hyper-Sudoku/Kakuro. And now it’s available to your readers worldwide from The New York Times Syndicate.

These ready-to-print puzzles are specially designed by international puzzlemasters and game experts Will Shortz and Peter Ritmeester.

“Every so often—seemingly when least expected—a brand-new puzzle comes along that knocks the world off its orbit. Almost everyone seems to be doing it…and talking about it,” says Will Shortz.

Enter Hyper-Sudoku and Kakuro. Each week clients of the Hyper-Sudoku/Kakuro feature will receive six Kakuro and two Hyper-Sudoku puzzles.

"the next level of sudoku."
Not just your ordinary Sudoku puzzle! Hyper-Sudoku is a variant on the popular Sudoku puzzle. Instead of having nine 3x3 boxes (each of which must contain the numbers 1 through 9), Hyper-Sudoku puzzles also include four shaded internal boxes (overlapping the standard nine), each of which must also contain the numbers 1 through 9.

"the next sudoku."
Kakuro, also known as "cross-sum," looks like a crossword puzzle but it is all about numbers. Readers are told what the numbers in each horizontal or vertical “word” of squares add up to, and must figure out what configuration of numbers satisfies the requirements.
